Why Choose This Trip?

Buon viaggio per Alpi Italiane!  Come and enjoy the Italian Alps in this magnificent trip which will most certainly to become a life lasting memorable event.  This trip is designed for both the non-skier and skiers that want to experience the Dolomites. The trip is in two parts:  Val di Fassa from 1/24/2025 to 2/2/2025, (travel day 1/24 and depart from Venice on 2/2 for base trip) and an optional post trip to Venice from 2/1/2025 to 2/4/2025 (3 nights/4 days).  We will also be offering optional day tours at Val di Fassa for non-skiers.

Val di Fassa, located in the heart of the Dolomites, stretches for about 20 kilometers in the northeast of the province of Trentino, on the border with South Tyrol and the province of Belluno.  The typical Alpine climate, with fresh summers and cold, snowy winter months that prevail here, is the reason Val di Fassa is often visited by nature lovers, downhill adventurers, hikers and skiers for their holidays. The most beautiful giants of the Dolomites surround Val di Fassa in Italy: Rosengarten, the Vajolet Towers, the Sella Group and the Marmolada, the Queen of the Dolomites.

Val di Fassa spoils snowboarders and skiers for choice, with 7 ski areas in a Natural World Heritage Park on more than 120km of spacious, speedy & spectacular ski slopes. The ski resorts are Ciampac-Buffaure, Belvedere-Col Rodella-Passo Pordoi, Vigo di Fassa-Catinaccio, San Pellegrino, Alpe Lusia, Karerpass, and Passo Fedaia-Marmolada.  It also connects directly with the Sella Ronda network. Offering great value for the money, Val di Fassa offers a down-to-earth on-piste skiing & riding experience with picturesque Dolomite scenery & the region’s best valley runs. The cable car up to Sass Pordoi is the only lift onto the Sella massif & allows access to the Dolomites best backcountry & freeride routes. Carezza has great terrain but is separated from the rest of Val di Fassa. Canazei, Campitello & Pozza di Fassa are the main towns in the valley & offer great accommodation, fabulous Italian food & super smooth espresso doppio!

Our hotel is in Canzie which is on the northeast side of the Val di Fasse valley.  Canazei with its hamlets of Gries, Alba and Penia, is one of the foremost tourist destinations in the Fassa Valley, nestling between the imposing Dolomite massifs: the Marmolada (3342 m, the Queen of the Dolomites), the Sella Group (3152 m) and the Gran Vernèl (3058 m).  Considered one of the skiing world's capitals, in winter, here you can spend entire days on some of the most popular slopes in the Dolomiti Superski circuit, one of Europe's largest ski resorts. From the town center, you can easily reach the Belvedere-Col Rodella, the Buffaure-Ciampac and the Marmolada, favorite destinations for all ski and snowboard enthusiasts.

Let yourself be conquered by Canazei and discover its twin souls: the modern and the old. 21st-century Canazei has luxury hotels, acclaimed restaurants, charming boutiques and bars open until late at night, while the historic town center is lined with houses decorated as if they had come straight out of a fairy tale, small artisan workshops and bell towers with pointed spires. The combination of these two aspects is what makes Canazei one of the jewels of the Fassa Valley and the ideal destination for a mountain holiday.
